Great, fun, and exciting news! Last month I was messaged by a footage research company on Vimeo asking if they could use some of my travel footage in a international video campaign for DiscoverAmerica. After some quick back and forth messages and a signed user agreement, it was all set.

The footage is being used in a handful of government funded travel commercials created to promote U.S. tourism. Unfortunately the commercials aren’t going to be running in the states but millions of other people all over the world are going to see them.

If you’ve seen my travel videos you might be able to pick out my shots. Look for the two night time shots of the empire state building in the Making of “Land of Dreams” video, and a timelapse of Trang and I eating some of the best shaved ice in the states in the “land of Dreams – Taste It” commercial But keep your eyes peeled cause the clips are quick!

I was in such a hurry to get the shot I forgot to turn off the auto white balance and I started getting bad flickering throughout the last four seconds.  I used Virtual Dubs, MSU deflicker plug-in to help mask the problem.  The shot’s about ten seconds long and was shot at a two second interval.

On Friday April 6th 2012 I accepted a Character animation position with ReadyAtDawn Studios. This closes out a crazy year of Freelance/Contract work. I am extremely excited about the new position and can’t wait to get started at the Studio.

My first official day is April 23rd and it can’t get here fast enough. The entire RAD team is extremely talented and I really believe this company is well on its way to becoming the next great developer.

Here’s an accolades video I found on IGN.com that shows just how well received their AAA games are

Last July Trang and I went on an East coast trip with her side of the family. We took full advantage of the 8days and jumped from city to city. Although the video doesn’t show the full extent of the trip, we spent time in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. We all had a great time regardless of the horrible heat wave and humidity that almost knocked us out.

Once again this was one of those videos where I had to pick and choose what to show. I had a lot of great shots ranging from the Vietnam wall, to the NYC skyline that didn’t make it. But I still consider us luckily to have been able to see all the monuments and famous places from each city. Hopefully one of these days we’ll get to check out more of the east coast. So many places so little time

I have been meaning to upload this video for quite some time, but it’s been hard enough find time to breathe with everything that has been going on lately. Hopefully soon things will get to settle down a bit and I’ll be able to do some more recreational type shooting

I’ve been wanted to start uploading character animations on a regular basis so here goes. Using a character I modeled back in 2007(he’s dated I know…) I created this specific animation a few months ago and decided to render it out. It’s a good old fashion 3 hit combo. I’m hoping to return to this animation down the line and add in a character getting nailed by his hammer. It’s really short so I lengthened it a bit to hopefully allow it to run a little smoother.

I was recently completed the DVDs for Gabriel & Maria’s Wedding.  After everything was editing and rendered their DVD clocked in at over 85minutes of edited footage.  So much footage I actually had to burn the collection onto 2 separate DVDs!

It was a lot of fun to capturing their special day and I am very happy with the final product!

HourBlast Games just released a trailer for its first social game, Dueling Blades.  Although the trailer doesn’t show a lot of animation, it does provide a good interpretation of what can be expected from the game.  Releasing on facebook in March, Dueling Blades is a fully 3d social game that runs on the Unity 3D engine.  This allows them to not only release on facebook, but mobile applications as well.

Being a PvP game at heart the games core is combat.  Animation wise this game was a dream come true because it was solely animated be me.  From the simplest idle animations to the most complex furies I had 100% control of the games animation feel and direction. We worked so closely together to create this game, and it’s been a lot of fun. Can’t wait until it gets released out to the masses!

I’ve even had the opportunity to update and improve a large section of my website.  I finally got to flush out the all the information in the “About Me” sections, in addition to streamlining the “3d Production” area.  I’m been looking at the statistics on the site and I’m really excited to see the sites growth in unique views.  I’ve got a lot of great projects on my plate right now and I’ll try to get them up for you guys to see as soon as I can.
