2015 The Order: 1886 Demo Reel

Here’s some of my collection of work from The Order: 1886. In additional to these animations, I worked with the rest of the in-game animation team to create 1000’s of animations for this game. Most of those animations were created in a very collaborative environment. Multiple animators would animate the same files to move animations through the pipeline. I can’t say enough how thankful I am to have been on this project.

Shot List:

  • 0:00 – Titles – Shot the light leaks with my camera and used some stock Particle footage from video co-pilot to try to make my name interesting 🙂
  • 0:07 – Boss Fight branching QTE – Lycan is keyed, and although the player started with mocap he eventually becomes all keyed for this animation as well. Camera used mocap that was also polished.
  • 0:13 – Melee Attack – Both characters use Mocap which was cleaned up and polished for contacts & clarity. Camera hand keyed
  • 0:18 – Lycan Attack Hit – Lycan is keyed, Player uses Mocap that was cleaned up and polished.
  • 0:21 – Boss Fight branching QTE – Lycan is keyed, and the player uses mocap with a heavy amount of keyed love. Rubble is all hand keyed. Camera used mocap that was also polished.
  • 0:37 – Stealth Melee Kill – Both characters use Mocap which was cleaned up and polished for contacts & clarity. Camera hand keyed
  • 0:43 – Lycan soldier Execute – Lycan is keyed on a very cool transforming rig, and the player uses mocap that was cleaned up and polished.
  • 0:51 – Boss Fight branching QTE – Lycan is keyed, and the player uses mocap with a heavy amount of keyed love. Rubble is all hand keyed. Camera used mocap that was also polished.
  • 1:03 – Lycan Kill – Lycan is keyed, and the player uses mocap with a heavy amount of keyed love. Camera used mocap that was also polished.
  • 1:06 – Lycan Plank Attack – Lycan is keyed, and the player uses mocap that was cleaned up and polished. Camera used mocap that was also polished.
  • 1:13 – Stealth Melee Kill – Both characters use Mocap which was cleaned up and polished for contacts & clarity. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:19 – Lycan Attack Miss – Lycan is keyed, Player uses Mocap that was cleaned up and polished. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:21 – Near Cover Melee Kill – Both characters use Mocap which was cleaned up and polished for contacts & clarity. Camera hand keyed
  • 0:51 – Boss Fight branching QTE – Lycan is keyed, and the player is mocap and keyed.
  • 1:28 – Near Cover Melee Kill – Both characters use Mocap which was cleaned up and polished for contacts & clarity. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:33 – Stealth Melee Kill – Both characters use Mocap which was cleaned up and polished for contacts clarity. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:36 – Area Transition Cutscene – A mix of multiple mocap traversal files, and polish to create this one. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:40 – Area Transition Animation – Player is hand keyed! No Mocap. One of the few in the game! haha. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:43 – Ladder Interact – A mix of multiple mocap files, and polish to create this one. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:47 – Near Cover Melee Kill – Both characters use Mocap which was cleaned up and polished for contacts & clarity. Camera hand keyed
  • 1:51 – Titles – Shot the light leaks with my camera and used some stock Particle footage from video copilot to again try to make my name interesting.
